Atomic Spectroscopy and Imaging of Graphene Edge
Abstract: The analysis of the electron energy states from a single atom can be achieved by the atomic scale imaging and its energy states measurements. Here we performed the simultaneous atomic imaging and its spectroscopy from the edge atoms of a graphene sheet, a hexagonal carbon network. In particular, we found that the same element of carbon with different bonding states showed intrinsic inner-shell spectroscopy, giving new features in energy-loss near-edge structure (ELNES).
