Application for Lectures

Please apply from the “Registration/Application for presentation” page.

Please upload your abstract as a PDF. Use the provided abstract template to prepare a PDF before submitting your abstract.
Both oral and poster presentations must be uploaded in PDF format. Please prepare files, including figures, within the template size of 160x120 mm2 (approximately half of an A4-sized page). The title, author, and figure captions should be written in English. Please refer to the template for details on font, resolution, etc. Please also make sure that there are no discrepancies between the registration form and the uploaded file.

Eligibility and number of applications

Both members and non-members can submit any number of applications. We are also accepting applications for general lectures during some of the symposia. We hope to receive many applications. You can apply to become a member of the Japanese Society of Microscopy at any time. Non-members, please refer to the website of the Japanese Society of Microscopy.

December 22nd, 2021 (Wed.) - February 9th, 2022 (Wed.) February 16th, 2022 (Wed.)

Presentation format

General lectures consist of oral and poster presentations. Presenters who are unable to attend the meeting in person are requested to select oral presentation, which can be streamed online. Symposia consist of only oral presentations.

Oral Presentation (Hybrid Session)
One projector will be set up in each room. Presenters and chairpersons will need to login through ZOOM.
Poster presentation (On-site)
Poster board size: 210 cm (H) x 90 cm (W)
Display size: 170 cm (H) x 86 cm (W)

Presentation acceptance

After the committee decides among the submitted presentations, the titles of the accepted presentations will be published online.

Session and Presentation Format

Although we will try to meet all requests for the session type (general lecture/symposium) and presentation format (oral/poster), please understand there may be cases where your request cannot be met.

Presentation time

  1. General oral presentation: 15 minutes (including discussion)
  2. General poster presentation: Please hang your poster on the designated board between May 11th (Wed.) and May 13th (Fri.), and remove it between 3 and 4:30 pm on May 13th (Fri.).
  3. Symposium Oral Presentation: Determined by the organizer of each session.

Excellent Poster Award (members of the Japanese Society of Microscopy)

During the meeting, the committee will select the winners of the best poster award (for general and students), so please apply. The names of the winners will be posted online.

Student Best Presentation Award (members of the Japanese Society of Microscopy)

This year, we will also present a best presentation award to a student who has made an outstanding oral presentation. Please feel free to apply. The names of the winners will be posted online.
